In Love...with something

yeah have you got yourself a bicycle?? Don't you know the price of a barrel might rise to US$200 very shortly?? Go get one just as a safety precaution before they those bicycle sellers raise the price of bicycles.lol..i got 1 for myself in early May. seriously. but i bought it for exercise purpose. He's a racing bike actually..Nama dia Pietro. You know those downward bent handlebars with thin tyres. Yeah..that's right..that's a racing bike. I ride Pietro every evening except when it rains. and it rains almost every evening nowadays at my place.

My current record is 28Km in 90minutes. i know it's nothing. but honestly, i have improved tremendously. For the first few days i couldn't ride on the highest gear. I mean the legs tire out after just a few minutes. i was on the mid gear on straights and lowest gear on climbs.
But now, its high gear all the way for me. Currently, I'm only doing straights just to build my strength, stamina, and cadence. There's a straight stretch near my place. It's 1.4km long. So, a lap(go and back) is 2.8km. I did 10laps in 90minutes non-stop drinking while riding.

A few day before that, i did 5laps and before going back home, i decided to give a shot of two more laps. and i successfully did it. That made me realise that i can push myself harder. Now I'm trying to continue on 10laps but on a shorter time period.

i have always loved cycling. I bought Pietro using my salary working in IIS. Of course, there was a displeasure among my family members as i didn't tell them I'm buying a bicycle. Until today, my dad haven't said A THING about my bicycle. He has never asked anything about that bicycle. Where i bought or how much i bought. Anyway, i was, as some of you might know, not deterred. I told them i went to look for a bicycle. They didn't take me seriously. they thought this might be a new Beatriz (i will write about this later).

The next day, the bicycle arrived. At 9p.m. something. He's black in colour with green and black spotted handlebar, and 21speed Shimano gears. They were astounded. I was ignorant. I felt it was my money and i bought something that is, after all, not a waste or useless thing. I mean this bike could last for years(full alloy body..very light..but not as light as the carbon body bikes which costs thousands bucks..mine is a few hundred bucks) and doesn't cost much for maintanence.

A month or so have passed and they seem to have get used to Pietro. He's a celebrity at my place you know. Lol. people still glare at him like they have never seen a bicycle before. and Kids wanna race with me. A few days ago a boy was following me at the other side of the road in a small bike. He was pedaling in such a way that it was so obvious that’s he actually trying to catch me. I was on my 6th or 7th lap. I was riding slow actually to recover and he somehow managed to get pass me. still on the opposite side of the road. After that he took a corner and was never seen again. Haha he probably went back home I guess. That kid really pushed himself to catch me on a racing bike.

Cycling is not easy folks. That's why i fell in love with it. It's one of toughest sport in the world. Those Tour de France or any professional Tour riders have very very very high endurance and stamina. Cycling really pushes one's body to the extreme. You wouldn't know until you start cycling yourself. I mean a racing cycle of course. Not those normal bicycles which even my grandma can cycle.

I can run and i also love running. But i realised that i'm not a distance runner. My frame was more suited to sprints rather than distance. So, the next closest thing to marathon is cycling. And now I'm in love with cycling.
